Its flat frequency response and selectable settings—two low-cut filter options and a -15 dB pad—make the SM27 honest and versatile, so it can be used on anything from vocals and guitars to drums and piano.
The uniform cardioid polar pattern of the SM27 helps reduce the capture of stage bleed and background noise, allowing you to achieve more gain and stronger direct sound. The built-in pop protection utilizes three separate layers to minimize noise from vocal plosives, breaths, and even light wind. In addition to the internal shock-mounting, the mic comes with a rubber-isolated shockmount to further decouple the mic from sources of vibration. Being a solid-state XLR condenser mic, the SM27 requires 48V phantom power.
