The kit accessorizes the Shure KSM32S/L studio condenser microphone with everything necessary to achieve quality vocal recordings in home and project studios. The KSM32S/L is delivered with the PreSonus Studio Channel microphone preamp, sE Electronics Reflexion Filter Pro, pop filter, On-Stage boom stand, Closed-Back headphones, and an XLR cable.
Featuring integral pop protection and shock-mounting plus a large-diaphragm true condenser capsule and transparent Class-A circuitry, the champagne Shure KSM32/SL microphone is built to deliver excellent transient response and neutral tone in the studio or on stage. Its flat frequency response and selectable settings—two low-cut filter options and a -15 dB pad—make the KSM32/SL honest and versatile, so it can be used on anything from vocals and guitars to drums and piano. The SL model comes with a ShureLock shockmount, ShureLock stand mount, velveteen pouch, and hard shell carrying case.
The uniform cardioid polar pattern of the KSM32/SL helps reduce the capture of stage bleed and background noise, allowing you to achieve more gain and stronger direct sound. The built-in pop protection utilizes three separate layers to minimize noise from vocal plosives, breaths, and even light wind. Internal shock-mounting helps to decouple the mic from sources of vibration that could otherwise transfer from the mic body to the capsule. Being a solid-state XLR condenser mic, the KSM32/SL requires 48V phantom power.
The Presonus Studio Channel is a channel strip that features a tube preamp, a VCA compressor, and a 3-band parametric EQ. The tube preamp section features two knobs: Gain and Tube Drive. This allows you to adjust the amount of signal that hits the tube circuitry, opening up a wide range of sonic options. The VCA compressor section is well-suited to help all different kinds of audio sit nicely in a mix, whether it’s percussion with fast transients, or smooth and silky vocals. The parametric EQ features a custom amplifier with a gain control on each of the 3 bands, with a variable Q knob on the mid frequency.
